“Teaching should be such that what is offered is percieved as a valuable gift and not as a hard duty.”

As I have just returned from Seattle and the ACF Western Regional Conference I find myself very enthused, and proud of our chapter. While at the general session of the conference our chapter was presented with the 2009 chapter achievement award. I was proud to stand and accept this award for all of our chapter members. All of the members, Associate, junior, student, and Chefs together we make this chapter what it is. The hard work and diligence that is displayed by you is impressive and appreciated. As a chapter we had over 20 members attending this year’s conference, what an honor it was to be there. The friendship, camaraderie, and respect that has grown between ours and the other chapters in the west is a great example of how relationships in our industry should be. As I said hello to friends that I have not seen for a year or so but quickly got re acquainted with, I remember how valuable these relationships are. These are friends that have the same sort of struggles and pressures that we all have and are dealing with the same issues that we all deal with. I came away with a sense of relief and a great feeling that our friendships and professional relationships are still an important part of being who we are. Click here for more...
